The Multi-Mixture "Food-Making" Machinery

Food is not readily available in many places that are rapidly expanding. The few areas that are cultivated are not enough to supply the population's demand for food. These people need help in finding other food sources. Not surprisingly, malnutrition is rampant among the populace; it especially affects the very young.

Historically, the indigenous people of these areas eat a diet of meat, fish and local grain. Unfortunately, their traditional diet is not sufficient to provide sound nutritional balance for growing children. This equipment will mix nutrient-rich fruit and vegetables to create a nutritional supplement that can be added to the flour products already in the children's diet. The multi-mix nutritional powder will be produced, distributed and provided to the indigenous communities at no cost. The program will also employ mothers to help produce the equipment.

Once fully operational, this machinery will provide the "Merenda Basic" daily for the schoolchildren, at a cost of approximately $6 per month per student. The first machinery installation is planned for the Manatee Ecological School project in Novo Airao.
